TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH is the contracting partner for participation in the event and is responsible for registration, booking confirmations, invoicing, and payment processing.
The Institute of Concrete Structures at TUD Dresden University of Technology supports the organization and administration of the event.

1. General provisions
General Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern participation in the above-mentioned event and the related sale of tickets by TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH as the contracting partner.
2. Event fees
The participation fees shown are final prices. Due to the tax exemption under Section 4 No. 22 of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG), no German VAT is charged on the participation fees.
The price of the Gala Dinner includes 19% German VAT.
The prices are per person.
Where discounted rates are available for certain participant categories (e.g., students, young members, or members of specific organizations), this will be expressly indicated. Eligibility for a discounted rate must be demonstrated by providing valid supporting documentation (e.g., a student ID, government-issued ID, or membership number). Such documentation must be provided before the start of the event.
If the required documentation cannot be provided, the participant must pay the difference between the full rate and the discounted rate before admission to the event.
3. Registration and payment
Participation requires online registration via https://fib-2027.org/registration/, acknowledgment of the Privacy Notice, acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and permission to have your photo taken.
Registration constitutes an offer to enter into a participation agreement. The contract is concluded only upon written confirmation by the organizer. Full and accurate personal details must be provided. After registration, TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH will send a booking confirmation and invoice to the email address provided. The contract for participation in the event shall be concluded only upon TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH’s written confirmation of the participant’s registration by email.
Payment methods: bank transfer or credit card. The payment deadline is stated on the invoice.
If the participant fails to make payment by the payment deadline stated on the invoice, TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH shall be entitled to withdraw from the contract. Upon withdrawal by the Contracting Partner, the participant’s right to participate in the event shall cease.
4. Cancellation policy
The statutory right of withdrawal for consumers in distance contracts does not apply where the statutory requirements for an exclusion of the right of withdrawal under Section 312g (2) No. 9 BGB are met.
Cancellation requests must be submitted by email to office@fib-2027.org. The date on which the email is received shall determine whether the cancellation deadline has been met. Refunds, if applicable, will be issued to the original payment method.
A substitute participant may be named up to 5 business days before the event by emailing office@fib-2027.org. The substitute participant must meet the eligibility requirements of the original registration category. If the substitute participant does not qualify for the same category, the difference between the registration fee already paid and the applicable registration fee must be paid before admission to the event.
5. Services
The scope of the contractual services provided in connection with the event is determined by the information materials, the information provided on the event website, any applicable registration forms, and the booking confirmation issued by TUDIAS TU Dresden Institute of Advanced Studies GmbH.
In the event of any discrepancy, the description of services set forth in the booking confirmation shall prevail.
Travel to and from the event, accommodation, and meals and refreshments outside the event are not included in the event services unless such services are expressly specified in the event description.
If a participant does not make use of services that were included in the participation fee, no refund shall be granted.
6. Hygiene and safety regulations
Participants must comply with the applicable legal hygiene and safety regulations in force at the time of the event. Violation of applicable hygiene or safety rules may result in exclusion from the event. In such cases, no refunds will be given. Any fines or legal consequences arising from violations are the sole responsibility of the individual.
7. Photography and video recording
Photography and video recording may take place during the event (June 7–9, 2027).
The use and publication of photographs and video recordings are governed by the separate consent provided during registration and the applicable Privacy Notice.
Overview shots, without specific depiction of individual persons, may be taken on the basis of legitimate interests under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, provided that the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the persons concerned do not outweigh those interests.
8. Data protection
The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
The legal basis for processing personal data necessary for the organization and administration of the event is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where applicable. For overview photographs and video recordings, the legal basis may be Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests), as described in Section 7.
Recipients of personal data may include the Contracting Partner, the Administrative Organization, internal organizational teams, and, where applicable, service providers and other recipients involved in the organization and documentation of the event. Photos and videos may be shared with media representatives, press, and contributors where applicable.
Data subjects have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.
No automated decision-making takes place.
Personal data is collected, stored, and processed for the purposes of organizing and conducting the fib Symposium 2027. Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary for these purposes or as required by applicable statutory retention obligations.

9. Liability
The Contracting Partner is liable without limitation for damages resulting from injury to life, limb, or health, as well as in cases of intent and gross negligence.
In the event of a slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation, liability shall be limited to the foreseeable damage typically associated with such a breach. Otherwise, liability for breaches of duty resulting from ordinary negligence is excluded.
Liability for arrival and departure, accommodation, and lost or stolen items exists only in accordance with the above principles. The Contracting Partner is not liable for damage caused by third parties or other participants, unless such damage is attributable to a breach of duty by the Contracting Partner.
10. Force majeure
In the event of cancellation due to force majeure or an official order, participants shall not be entitled to compensation for any additional costs or damages. In such cases, participation fees will be fully refunded.
If a replacement date is offered, participants may choose whether to maintain their registration or have their participation fees refunded.
Otherwise, the statutory provisions shall apply. Any payments made that are refundable under the applicable statutory provisions shall be refunded.
11. Exclusion from participation
In the event of culpable behavior, in particular significant disruption or repeated disregard of the house rules, exclusion from the event is possible. In such cases, the participation fees will not be refunded.
Smoking and the use or possession of illegal drugs are prohibited throughout the event premises.
12. Final provisions
The Contracting Partner reserves the right to modify the program or replace speakers for valid reasons, even on short notice, provided that this does not significantly alter the overall nature of the event. The current program is available on the event website: https://fib-2027.org/program/
German law shall apply, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in the country in which the consumer has their habitual residence.
For contracts with merchants, legal entities under public law, or special funds under public law, the place of jurisdiction shall be Dresden, Germany. The statutory places of jurisdiction apply to consumers.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
